How it all began
How we got here
It all started with an email from Florida for Boomers the first week of July 2023. I clicked for more information on Latitude Margaritaville Watersound (LMWS) in Panama City Beach, Florida and the rest is history.
A realtor from LMWS reached out and we set up a time to visit during our planned trip to Blue Mountain Beach along 30A in September 2023.
We put our names on the list for a cottage with anticipated date to pick a lot in 2025/2026.
We inquired about a lot by the gates in Phase 6BC in April/May 2024.
Our future sales agent called June 2, 2024. to offer a preserve lot that would give us a view of a preserve rather than a view of another home.

Who was Dock Dog Jake (namesake for this URL)?
Jake was Matt's first dog after moving to Indiana. He was a Doberman/Vizsla mix and was the most loveable dog. He participated in the canine sport of dock jumping in 2006/2008.
He was Matt's sidekick for over 7 years before passing from cancer in January 2013. Jake had his own website, but it never had much on it, and Matt kept the domain.
Jake has a memorial video tribute on YouTube.
The site has been activated to share our home building journey with our friends and family.

Latitude Margaritaville Watersound is located on Northwest Florida's Emerald Coast between Destin and Panama City. It is just off of our favorite place to visit, the scenic Highway 30A corridor that runs along 20 miles of coastline with views of some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. This area, with its many small coastal towns, is the embodiment of the relaxed, beachy vibe that is the heart of the Latitude Margaritaville and Jimmy Buffett lifestyle.

We are in Phase 6BC. We've met some nice people in the neighborhood via a Facebook group. We've also met our "roof mate". Our cottage shares a roof with our neighbor, but we have two separate homes with no shared walls.
